I was very surprised when I found out about a new online store called “Thrifted and Modern”. They seriously have pieces that are very alike to the “Manta Guajira.” It was a great EtnoChic Finding. Thrifted and Modern also have rare and unique hand-selected vintage pieces. Check their website for details.

Here is another fashion twist made to the Wayuú outfit. In this case, Zulia designer Douglas Tapia designed a “Manta Guajira,” although miniskirt doesn’t suit the traditional Wayuú Attire; this design keeps the primal essence: It is still a square, without cuts or clamps and securely fastened at the waist with colorful accessories. The lime green dress, made of cotton fabric retains its five meters of the same amplitude used by Zulia Guajiras. {Model Norelys Rodriguez}

And this is me
Back then, I didn’t know my Guajira attire will ever be a fashion style
The little cat next to me is my niece having fun in the Carnivals. LOL!!! She is going to kill me after seeing this!
