See how I spent my Saturday morning

One of my 2011 resolutions was to spend more time, during the weekend, with my family and writing. Working in a wedding photography business, for the past four years, plus being a social media consultant during the week has taken almost all of my free time. I was suddenly becoming a #workaholic.

I understood that I had to schedule my “Do nothing Days/Time”; and reorganize my priorities if I want to to get a life!

However, photography is our passion and blogging my obsession. For that reason I decided to post some of my weekend pictures. But this time is just for fun!

Last Saturday I took back my pastime! On a Saturday Morning, I used to enjoy visiting Farmer’s Markets and International Markets. I simple love the early shower of the sunlight, the freshness aroma of the air, colorful produce and blooming flowers. But I stopped doing it because of work.

One of my favorite spots is Morningside Farmer’s Market. I enjoyed everything, specially the cooking demonstration. Last Saturday Chef Robert Elliott from Sprig Restaurant showed us how to make “Chilled Carrot Soup and Savory Carrot Pancakes”. If you like Dynamic Dish, every Saturday at 9:30, you may catch the owner/chef presenting a demo.

If you have never visited Morningside Farmer’s Market, I let you know that it’s a small market –maybe 10 or so vendors with their own little tents. It is open Saturdays morning year round, which is rare in the Atlanta local market scene. All vendors have to sell organic products and they all have to be local. They have a mix of veggies, eggs, fruits, meats, flowers, granola, honey, and handmade items.

This farmer’s market is great because they email what the farmer’s expect to have every week so you can go knowing what to sniff out and what your week’s menus are going to look like. It’s fun plus, spending a little extra cash on local produce is well worth it.

It feels awesome to take time to do what you really like to do…I encourage you to do it sometime this week!
